Plant Roses in Your Window Boxes and add Rose Vines to a Trellis

Does it get any more remarkable than that?  Well, actually, yes, since beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  Roses are a popular favorite for window boxes and rose vines in trellises are also a common practice that many landscapers and gardening enthusiasts alike enjoy. 

For planting roses in window boxes we recommend the use of miniature roses and planting in a zig zag pattern so that the window box fills out.  Add a trellis under a second story window box and incorporate some rose vines so that the roses appears to flow out of the window box and onto the house.  You can also put a window box or planter up on a wall with no window that is plain and simple and place the trellis behind it so that the roses appear to crawl right out of the flower box.  Either way, it's a great method to beautify your home and add some needed curb appeal.

Learning a few tips about growing roses can never hurt.  There are certain soil and sun requirements.  Roses usually need 4-6 hours of sun to do their best.  Too much or too little sun can be harmful.  Pruning and fertilizing are also fairly basic and the skills can be picked up readily.
